I recently read it in Japanese and thought it deserved a rework. There's tons of great stuff in the (still) untranslated pages. As for the old translation, I'd say it's about as good as any. There was nothing really wrong with the original translation, in fact it is superior to this one seeing as this one reads more like a cheaply done western porno. Apparently I'm not only required to give you free stuff (exactly as you want it down to the tiniest specification), I'm also a hypocrite for suggesting that if you want something you might actually consider doing a little work to get it. ADDITIONAL THOUGHT: An alarming number of people clearly don't understand the words they use, most notably "hypocrite," in this case. I don't know how long it took me to type out that response, but it was probably upward of ten minutes. ME: As much as I would love to see "Spending Time With My Aunt After I Got Her Pregnant," I get the impression this artist doesn't really do the sequel thing. ADDITIONAL THOUGHT: For years now, I've been seeing "Sequel please!" comments on what seems like every English version, as if the translator/uploader can magically produce something that doesn't exist... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (on a story I translated from an anthology comic without knowing it was also available in one of the author's tankoubon) READER: I'm a pretentious, spiteful turd and I've decided this is a rewrite because I saw the word rewrite in entirely different context in the translation notes (and I'm overjoyed to show the entire world I'm far too stupid to comprehend the difference)! Everybody go read the "better" translation already up! OTHER READERS COLLECTIVELY: This is a rewrite because some moron with zero idea what he's talking about said so! Let's all harp on it! SOME LATECOMER WHO ACTUALLY HAS THE SENSE TO THINK FOR HIMSELF: What makes it a rewrite? ME: IT'S NOT A REWRITE. There's only one line in the entire translation you could sort of begin to make such a claim about and that's just because I reworked it to something that sounds more smooth/slippery and less abrasive in English. Side note: thanks to somebody... I viewed enough of the older translation to know it retains the most important word in that bubble and completely rewrites the rest of it whereas my approach kind of went the opposite direction and slightly changed the meaning of the bubble in the process. I also spotted three bubbles where the older version assumes the wrong character is speaking, and where it converts 射精っぷり~~~~ to "English-phrase-here, puri~." I laughed pretty hard when I saw it. (No low quality machine translation would ever do that...) ADDITIONAL: Once I figured out some of what you just read, I changed my uploader comment to "It took me some time to figure out why someone would label this a rewrite, and when I finally did I busted up laughing so long/hard I nearly fell off my chair. As one of my favorites said, 'we're all victims of our own gene pool.'" If you know what that's from, you probably also know the following line is, "Someone must have peed in yours." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- READER: Oh, wow! Other people are really giving you a hard time for absolutely no reason. That sucks. Anyway, thanks for the translation. ME: You're welcome.
